SmartGaon Development Foundation commonly known as SmartGaon, is an Indian non-profit organization, currently headquartered in Mumbai, India (Registered in 2018).
SmartGaon’s etymology is derived from two words, SMART, an acronym for Sanitized, Modern Urban Facilities, Awareness & Adoption , Self Reliant and Tech Savvy, and GAON meaning village in Hindi.
SmartGaon Development Foundation provides Outreach platform to Non-Profits, Private/Public/Government Organizations of various sectors to come together and with Innovative & collaborative approach work towards Integrated Development of Rural Areas.
SmartGaon is in strategic support with Government of India’s initiatives including Digital India, Swachh Bharat mission, Make in India and Skill India. Our flagship Mobile Application SmartGaon (Smart Village Management Platform) have been admired by Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi during his Nationwide public addressal program, Mann Ki Baat. This mobile application has various smart features like tracking village development activities, Smart Panchayat Governance, phone directory, event calendar, online education, online Doctor, helpline, Survey for Need assessment & Impact Analysis, News section etc.
In mid-2018, SmartGaon Development Foundation completed it’s first project in Taudhakpur , a remote village in Raebareli, by installing digitized public address systems, CCTV, smart farming practices, mobile app facility in the form of SmartGaon App for global connectivity and other modern amenities. Taudhakpur has been deemed as the first “SmartGaon” (Smart village) of India.
